Compassionate Kids care about Animals.
Studies have shown that people who abuse (or are cruel to)
animals rarely stop there. Upwards of 70% of abused women that
had pets said their partner abused, threatened or killed their
pet, but there was also a high percentage of abused children
that abused animals in similar households. Where there was child
abuse, 88% had animal abuse too.
is obvious we need to teach our children kindness towards
animals, as it clearly affects the type of people they grow up
to be. In fact, the U.S. National Parent-Teacher Association
Congress was quoted as saying the following:
"Children trained to extend justice, kindness, and mercy to
animals become more just, kind, and considerate in their
[relations] with one another. Character training along these
lines in youth will result in men and women of broader
sympathies; more law-abiding-in every respect more
Compassionate Kids learn about respect for ALL living creatures;
that all living beings exist for their own reasons, not for our
benefit as a superior species. They learn the proper care of animals,
including steps to help endangered animals, as well as animals in
entertainment, laboratories, and factory farms.
As a support to parents, teachers, and home educators, we will
list on this website animal-friendly curriculums, activities,
books, videos, magazines, articles, organizations, websites, and
other animal-friendly resources.
